Sensory Santa is back at The Old Cannery, with more days than ever. Santa Land turns into a dim, quiet, calm space so every child can enjoy a visit with Santa at their own pace. Photos are free. Visits are by appointment only and open now.

A Calmer Visit with Santa

Picture Santa Land in the hush before the day begins. The lights glow soft and low. The music fades to a whisper. Santa waits in his big chair, in no hurry at all.

That's Sensory Santa. It's a slower, gentler visit for children on the autism spectrum, kids with sensory processing differences, and little ones with weakened immune systems, including those going through chemotherapy. There are no crowds and no rush. Your child can take it in a little at a time, and every family gets the photo and the memory they came for.

So many families asked for more time that we've added extra Sensory Santa mornings this year. And on Friday, December 18, we have a super special surprise... Sensory Santa all day long, from 10am to 6pm.

Tips for a Smooth Visit

• Only book one appointment per family. Anyone booking multiple appointments will have all of their appointments cancelled. 
• Book early so you get the day and time that work best for your family.
• Bring a favorite blanket, toy or headphones if they help your child feel at ease.
• Talk about the visit ahead of time. A quick "we're going to say hi to Santa" can help kids know what to expect.
• Go at your child's pace. A wave from across the room counts as a visit too.
