Some living rooms have one wall that has to do everything — hold the television, hide the gear, and still feel like a finished room. The Essex super console handles all three, and puts a real fire under the screen while it is at it.

Legends hand builds it in the United States in a two-tone Black and Whiskey finish with oil-rubbed bronze hardware, and the glass windowpane doors let a remote reach the components without leaving them on display. The electric insert runs with or without heat, so the flames work in July as easily as January, and cord cutouts in the back panel keep the wiring off the floor. This is a piece for a long, unbroken wall in a family room or finished basement. Measure the run twice before you order, because it is genuinely wide.
