Skip the box spring and the bed frame: the W. Silver IdealFrame is a folding all-steel platform base built to replace both. At 14 inches high it puts a queen mattress at a comfortable sitting height and leaves real storage space underneath for bins or luggage. The queen ships as two folding steel sections that unfold, lock their legs upright with wing nuts, and bolt together side by side, no tools needed. Twelve heavy-duty legs spread the load across the whole mattress, so there is no center sag and no squeak from wood slats. Assembled size is 80 inches long by 58 inches wide, and the base weighs 38 pounds. 100 percent made in America. Works with any mattress that calls for a firm, flat surface, including memory foam and hybrids. Add a headboard with the optional bracket set, or use it bare in a guest room or apartment where a box spring will not fit up the stairs.
