Round tables solve awkward rooms. Nobody gets stuck on a corner, traffic flows around the edge, and conversation stays in one circle. The Balam table rests a smooth round top on a sculptural conical pedestal, so there are no legs to straddle and every seat is a good one.

IFD handcrafts the Balam collection from sustainable mango and teak wood, then applies a translucent multi-step black lacquer that lets the natural grain and knots show through instead of hiding them. Mortise and tenon joinery keeps the base steady through years of daily meals, and the top and base ship as two pieces for an easier carry-in. Sized for a breakfast nook, an apartment dining area, or a square dining room where a rectangular table would crowd the walkways.
